Inland Revenue's post-election briefing for the incoming Minister of Revenue has been released. This briefing provides an overview of current tax policy and administration as well as consideration of the challenges that face the new Government.
These challenges include:
- ensuring cohesion between tax policy and the Government's broader economic objectives
- addressing abating social assistance such as Working for Families
- ensuring delivery of core functions in a fiscally constrained financial environment
- addressing the changes and demands of information technology in the delivery of Inland Revenue services.
